Border closer: Nigeria list conditions to reopen the borders

Nigeria launched a partial border closure in August to tackle smuggling of rice and other goods and this has caused lots of pains and groaning among neighboring states that are affected by it. Nevertheless, the Nigeria government,through The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has listed five conditions for reopening country’s border. These include: Prohibition of repackaged goods by neighboring country to Nigeria,respect for ECOWAS rules of origin,prohibition of illegal borders,30 percent of local input in all imports and  identification of ECOWAS migrants by international passport only.
